Union Minister Smriti Irani on Wednesday stopped at a pan shop in Amethi to buy toffees and chips where she told the shopkeeper not to use polythene bag.
The video has gone viral on social media where Smriti Irani can be seen asking for chips and speaking to someone on the phone at a pan shop located in Gauriganj area.
Speaking to India Today TV, owner of the pan shop Guddu said, “She purchased toffees and chips for Rs 35. She refused to take polythene bag when I offered and told me not to use it.”

Smriti Irani is on a two-day visit to her parliamentary constituency Amethi.
She inaugurated free Wifi service at Amethi railway station and inspected the Gauriganj railway station with top officials of the railway ministry and additional chief secretary of the UP government Avanish Awasthi.
Smriti Irani also heard the grievances of people in janta darbars organised in Gauriganj, Jamo and Jagdishpur area.
