Tonk rape-murder case: Accused sent to 5 days police custody

The truck driver accused of raping and murdering a 6-year-old minor girl in Rajasthan’s Tonk district has been sent to 5 days police custody.

The accused, identified as Mahendra alias Dholiya, was produced in the POCSO court on Tuesday under heavy police security. The police sought five days’ remand of the accused which was accepted by the court.

Lawyers protested against the accused inside the court and shouted slogans against him as well.

The six-year-old minor girl had gone to attend school under the Aligarh police station area. However, when she did not return home, her relatives began searching for her.

On Sunday, while trying to trace her whereabouts, the relatives found her body in dense bushes.

As per information, the minor girl had been strangulated to death using her own school belt. The post-mortem report confirmed that the girl was raped.

As per the girl’s relatives, after the sports event at the school on Saturday, students had left for home. However, the girl’s bag was found in the school itself.

The girl’s family has demanded death by hanging for the culprit in the case.

As per information, the girl was staying with her paternal grandmother and her parents had gone to Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh for work.
