A day after the Election Commission of India (ECI) imposed a nationwide campaign ban for 72 hours on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his provocative communal remarks, he visited the Hanuman Setu temple in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Yogi Adityanath took part in “puja” and after spending about 20 minutes in the temple, he left without taking any question from the media.
This was not the normal Puja rituals, but it was a planned political move by Yogi Adityanath to use the poll time. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh filed his nomination from Lucknow on Tuesday and Yogi Adityanath could not attend the roadshow as a star campaigner because of the ban.
Yogi Adityanath visiting the temple just before Rajnath Singh roadshow was a tactical move to give more political mileage in the current political situation. The chief minister will visit the Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya on Wednesday.
